Greece, Kavala, creative tourism workshop 23-25 July 2022

Published: 03.08.2022

The idea of the COME&SEE festival is to raise awareness of the common traditions and practices of the different partner countries, where dance, music and gastronomy are key elements. Creative tourism refers to both the interaction between people and the participation of local communities in organized events. The workshop we took part in was aimed at reflecting these themes and highlighting the aspect of tourism to be creative, but also to share the most interesting practices. Interactive sessions included:

Day 1 – Looking back: creative tourism as a case-generating concept. Group discussions were held. Together we considered different proposals for creative tourism and analyzed how our festival achieved its goal, to involve both the community and the project partners in what we call the cultural feature of the territory.

Day 2 – Looking forward: how things can improve in the future, to increase creativity, local tourism initiatives and festival sustainability. Participants examined the four dimensions of creative tourism, discussing how the roles of festival goers. We looked at how we could extend the learning dimension by creating a story that provides a framework for our work and events.

On the Last Day, the project team made their conclusions, determined the next steps to define this successful project, and we definitely look forward to discovering everyone's areas through the prism of creativity and interaction!
